5.0

Terminology 5 is a completely new, updated version – our biggest update since the app’s original release in 2010. Highlights of this update include:

  • New, modern user interface.
  • Updated infrastucture to make the app ready for more frequent updates.
  • The offline dictionary has been updated from the previous, somewhat aged, WordNet 3.1 to use the Open English WordNet project. This release uses the latest 2024 update, and we have built a flow to periodically update the built-in dictionary to match releases from the project. This change brings significantly improved and modernize definitions, as well as additional types of word relations to Terminology.
  • Support for creating multiple term lists to track sets of terms by project.
  • Support for adding multiple notes to any terms.
  • Improved online resource options, including an extended library of ready-to-use resources and better configuration options
  • Enhanced inline browser for online resources, which support login to services that require, or are improved by, user accounts.
  • iCloud Sync of lists, notes, history.
  • System integrations like Control Center, Spotlight, and more.
